The Menagerie
(aka the other females who share this all gal household)
A kangaroo? A koala bear? A cheetah?  Well no, my menagerie does not boast any of these!
The girls who share my home with me are much more common houseguests, although the most recent addition is a little more 'exotic' shall we say.

Meika, a Japanese Spitz, came to live with us in January 2006.  She is a gorgeous little white fluff ball who is bouncy and friendly in the extreme.  The only thing she loves more than big people is little people.   We do tend to be a little willful though.

She and Esmeralda have an understanding - Meika gets too close and she gets her nose smacked - soundly.  Which I might add does not put her off chasing at every opportunity.
Esmeralda the cat joined us in around June 1998.

Her adoption was a little more unusual.  I had just started a new job in transitional property management, and was conducting my first 'eviction' in the company of the local constabulary.  Esmeralda (approx 4 months old) had been left in the house for around a week, at a guess, from the mess we found.   This old softie fell for her hook, line and sinker as she reminded me very much of my last feline companion, who had been ushered into the next world by the vet, after she got her tail under the wheel of my car.

She runs the household with an iron paw (claws suitably sheathed of course), and even Sheena succumbed to her wiles.

A giggle brained cocker spaniel named Sheena came to live with me in late 1994 when she was around 17 months old, an acquisition from a workmate who was unable to keep her.

She was a loveable scruffmuff who had to be extremely ill to refuse anything by mouth.

Unfortunately, Sheena has gone to doggie heaven, and Esmeralda and I both missed her terribly.
