An Absolutely  Perfect Day
The long awaited day dawned and it seemed that perfection was to be the order of the day.  The weather was perfect, the setting romantic, the groom handsome and with a mile wide smile on his dial, the bride stunningly beautiful.  What more could we ask?  Absolutely nothing.
Michael and Maria's wedding day was perfection.  The weather was warm without being too hot, there was a gentle breeze which kept us cool, and hardly a cloud in the sky.  We could not have asked for a better day weatherwise, particularly for a garden wedding.

The gardens at Maria's parents home, while not up to the standard that mother Joanne would have liked, were still beautiful.  The setting for the ceremony was between two oak trees which gave ample shade for the guests.  An arch, made by one of the apprentices working for Michael's employer, and decorated by the two mothers, was set between, with seating all around in the shade.
Michael has never looked so handsome, and couldn't stop smiling all day.  Maria, of course was, if possible, more beautiful than usual, radiant and happy.  Even the groom's parents buried the hatchett (and not in each other's heads) and enjoyed the day in each other's company.  Mother and Grandmother of the groom were equally delighted to be thought by some of Maria's family to be his sister and mother respectively.  (Loved her grandmother when she asked me if I was his sister).

Only slight problem for the day was in the form of a small dynamo by name Anthony (Maria's son) who was part of the wedding party and decided to go feral part way through.  Got sick of having his picture taken so just simply refused to do so.  Consequently we have very few pics which include him.  He lived up to his nickname (given by Michael) of (Angry) Ant.  However, after all the hype, it is not inconceivable that he would react in some way.
The reception venue was lovely, decorated with silk roses, tulle and fairy lights.  An eight course meal saw us still eating at almost midnight.

A little bit of fun for the evening was tying the happy couple up with multicolored streamers as they danced the bridal waltz.  In the picture, from left to right are the best man, Maria's youngest sister, Michael's father, the happy couple of course, another of Maria's sisters, her brother-in-law, yours truly (in the deep red).  The blonde in the front is my eldest daughter and her daughter.
How is this for togetherness?  And Michael does not look at all concerned at being so up close and personal.  Funny about that.
Kerrie decided to decorate Michael's car with toilet paper, and she is probably the only one who would have got away with it.  As an aside, Michael does not have cars, Michael has CARS, and pity help anyone who even leans on his CAR.

When his new brothers-in-law and his mates heard what was going on they all raced out to see the reaction, as NONE of them would have been game to touch his car.  They all stood around and watched, but........not one of the big burly brutes would assist.

As Kerrie said, Michael is the only bridegroom who would be game enough to park his car right out front of the reception.  Incidentally, he thought it a huge joke.
The happy couple after honeymooning on the great barrier reef, off the coast of northern Queensland, are home and settling into wedded bliss!.
