These sayings have been plagiarized from various sources, usually anonymous. My thanks to the original authors whoever they may be, because the wisdom contained therein is priceless. Some of these I have taken unto myself as wisdom to live by, others are a little comical even in their wisdom. |

I Love You I love you not only for what you are But for what I am when I am with you I love you not only for what you have made of yourself But for what you are making of me I love you for the part of me that you will bring out I love you for passing over my foolish and weak traits That you can't help but see I love you for drawing out into the light my beauty That no one else had loved quite far enough to find |

Happiness: To be happy with a man you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all. |

Touch of the Master's
Hand by Myra Brooks Welch Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer Thought it scarcely worth his while To waste much time on the old violin, But held it up with a smile: 'What am I bidden, good folks,' he cried, 'Who'll start the bidding for me?' 'A dollar, a dollar'; then, 'Two' 'Only two? Two dollars, and who'll make it three? Three dollars, once; three dollars, twice; Going for three-' But no, From the room, far back, a gray-haired man Came forward and picked up the bow. Then, wiping the dust from the old violin, And tightening the loose strings, He played a melody pure and sweet As a caroling angel sings. The music ceased, and the auctioneer, With a voice that was quiet and low, Said: 'What am I bid for the old violin?' And he held it up with the bow. 'A thousand dollars, and who'll make it two? Two thousand and who'll make it three? Three thousand, once, three thousand, twice, And going, and gone,' said he. The people cheered, but some of them cried, 'We do not quite understand What changed its worth.' Swift came the reply: The touch of a master's hand.' And many a man with life out of tune, And battered and scarred with sin, Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd, Much like the old violin. A 'mess of pottage', a glass of wine; A game and he travels on. He is 'going' once, and 'going' twice, He's 'going' and almost 'gone'. But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd Never can quite understand The worth of a soul and the change that's wrought By the touch of the Master's hand. |

How to stop people bugging you about getting
married Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, asking me 'Are you going to be next?' They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals. |

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. |

If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with. BUT..... If it just sits in your living room, Messes up your stuff, Eats your food, Uses your telephone, Takes your money, And doesn't appear to realize that you set it free, Then you either married it or gave birth to it. |
